go haida gwaii spring mini-series (2021)

Xaana kaahlii gawgaay Skidegate Inlet Bay

Haida Gwaii is full of magical little details changing non-stop, from day to day, but also second to second. The tides and the power that they bring every day leave me (a prairie kid transplanted to the ocean, as a settler on Haida Gwaii) astounded on a daily basis. I hope this timelapse-filled short brings you as much wonder as they brought me while I was out filming.

All Over The Haida Gwaii MaPP

Invasive European Green Crab Short film

After invasive European green crabs were discovered on Haida Gwaii in the summer of 2020, a busy field season started to assess how far this invasive species has spread. Learn more about how the Council of the Haida Nation, the Province of BC and partners are responding to this invasion, how you can identify the European green crab and report your findings.

in the shadows of Everest (short)

Phortse. Home to more Everest summiteers than anywhere else on earth. Sherpas who live here are the backbone of nearly every expedition to the summit of the world. Conrad Anker and Jenni Lowe-Anker founded the Khumbu Climbing Centre in this Himalayan village to teach climbing skills that are vital to the safety of Sherpas during expeditions. From the construction of the KCC headquarters, at 3,800 metres, to Dumji, a Buddhist festival for the ages, these are the stories of Phortse.

ONdécouvre - Jimmy Gillese, snow specialist

Jimmy Gillese grooms the ski runs at Marmot Basin in Jasper. During a big snowfall in January 2020, we spent an overnight shift with him, learning about the process. I shot this piece when I was working at ONIVA, a nationally-broadcast children’s TV show for the French services of the CBC, Radio-Canada.

Où est Oli? - Bellegarde, Saskatchewan

Olivier, the host of ONIVA, finds himself on a foreign planet in outer space with a glimmer of hope in his search to find any form of life. I shot and edited this piece in 2018 while I was working for ONIVA, a Radio-Canada (CBC) production based in Edmonton.

Sled Island Music & Arts Festival trailer 2014

NOBODY RAINS ON OUR PARADE!

The swimmers are you, the festival, an eccentric island of culture bursting from the middle of an ocean of monotony. Without exploring a bit further, the pool looks pretty unremarkable. But when we look under the surface, we see a tight-knit group working their asses off to show their island off to the rest of the world. Synchro swimmers are a lot like the festival. They want people to discover something new.
